Historic Canyons

We are part of the original Spanish land grant to the Reyes-Marquez families - Rancho Boca de Santa Monica - whose family burial plot, the Pascual Marquez Family Cemetery - still lies within Santa Monica canyon. Recent efforts by the Marquez Family and the canyon community have resulted in a historic designation for the family cemetery and a successful fund-raising campaign to acquire land in front of the family plot for the community. For a history of Rancho Boca de Santa Monica, visit the Cemetery website.
